Morgan Stanley

Post occupancy evaluation

Following the fit out of a deep floor plate in Canary Wharf as a back office, Morgan Stanley wanted verification of how this worked for users before rolling out the concept on other floors. Given the depth of the square floor plate, combined with standard clear height, ZZA’s designed the POE to compare the experience of people seated in the perimeter zone close to windows with those in the large central zone away from natural light. The results showed the success of the lighting strategy. With the lit ceiling in the central area, people seated at desks in the deeper space felt favoured, rather than disadvantaged, relative to their colleagues on the perimeter.
