ZZA works with the wealth of architectural and design talent, but as Design Anthropologists, our input of UX:Space is distinct. Our research unpicks what works for users, and why. Our evaluations are specialist and independent, strengthening client solutions.

ZZA works at all spatial scales – interior, building, campus, city and virtual space. We transcend typical project siloes. And we approach all spaces as important, but more effective when they relate to joined-up life.

This informs the approach and methods of UX:Space. It gives our outputs the authenticity that people recognise – that makes them stick.

With our extensive record, our distinguished client base, and the many buildings and spaces we’ve researched and judged for awards, ZZA draws on a rich repertoire. As a small integrated team providing director-level capability on all assignments, we provide the quality and consistency that underpin robustness. Our analyses lead from research to action. Our concise input has high impact value relative to cost.

Founding vision

ZZA was founded by Ziona Strelitz, leveraging her qualifications in Social Anthropology, Town Planning and Interior Design. She saw the need for strong research to help create spaces that work better.

ZZA’s approach to UX:Space is infused by extensive knowledge of buildings and user types, fluent engagement across disciplines and knowledge domains, and alertness to change.

ZZA harnesses Ziona’s deep and wide experience – as a judge of high profile awards – including BCO, New London Architecture, World Architecture News, her involvements in academia – as lecturer and Visiting Professor, on expert panels – including the Home Office, CABE and Historic England, and her national and international speaking and research engagements that provide a global context for the ideas and references ZZA brings to the frame.

ZZA is proud of our record with leading occupiers, developers, architects and public bodies, with frequent repeat commissions. Our clients are focused on quality, innovation, value for money, and positive user experience. They recognise that systematic use of strong research, thoughtful strategy, and independent, expert evaluation adds value and enhances outcomes.
