Kings Place

Kings Place is an innovative, highly sustainable new building in one of London’s most connected locations and Europe’s biggest transport hub. It houses a complementary mix of uses – for offices, music performance, visual art, conferencing, leisure and dining.

At the outset, the developer appointed a core professional team, commissioning ZZA as Advisers on Building Use.

ZZA input to the project vision and architectural competition brief, and participated in the selection of Dixon Jones as project architects. We worked with the team on realising the brief, informing the design strategy and researching specific choices for the building, its office areas and public spaces.

Kings Place opened in Autumn 2008 with a rich cultural programme that generates its lively user base – day and night, throughout the week. The space is fully let, and over half of the office area was taken at plan stage by The Guardian and Observer newspapers.

The project has been highly acclaimed, winning the BCO’s ‘Best of the Best Award’ 2009, and the developer endorsed as Client of the Year.
