Post Occupancy Evaluation

Procuring a suite of new police stations in new locations, including more industrial sites away from urban centres, the Met Police commissioned ZZA to undertake a series of POEs involving four new buildings. Across this suite of POEs – from the first to the fourth, the buildings involve notable evolution in workplace design, which the client attributed to changes in specification relating to ZZA’s POE reporting.

ZZA’s POEs for the Met Police and other authorities involve a range of typologies – from a naturally ventilated office building filled with daylight, through industrial ‘shed’ structures accommodating office and custody functions, to hybrid design. ZZA has overviewed the learning in: ‘Guiding building innovation in a distinct functional sector: POE of new police accommodation’.
